Why Is There No Cost?
CapTel service is a federally funded program, thanks to the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and the FCC. That means anyone with certified hearing loss can enjoy a no-cost captioned phone and captioning service. Feel free to select the CapTel phone that works best for you – enjoy a no-cost, in-home installation – and make as many calls as you like.
How Do I Qualify?
Most types of hearing loss qualify for no-cost CapTel captioning service. But because federal law prohibits anyone but registered users from using captioned phones, your hearing health professional must first sign a certification form. You can print the form and bring it to your audiologist, physician, PA, nurse practitioner (NP), Veteran Service Officer (VSO) or another qualified professional.
